The College of Engineering at NC State has adopted college-specific computer recommendations, which vary slightly from university recommendations.

Computer Science students may be able to effectively use Apple products depending on concentration. The Computer Science department recommends a PC laptop (Windows) with a discrete or dedicated GPU for students interested in game development.
