Shipping and Tracking Orders

+Shipping Rates

The order subtotal determines our shipping rates. The standard rate for orders under $75 is $5.95 and any order over $75 has a shipping rate of $12.95. Some special circumstances include shipping a diploma frame, which has an increased rate of $35, due to the high value of the item. All shipping rates will be applied at checkout, with the appropriate rate automatically added to your order. When shipping to a PO box, keep in mind the approximate size of the item(s) you are ordering; if the item is larger than the PO box itself, USPS will direct the package to be returned to Wolfpack Outfitters. We are unable to ship any packages to on-campus housing, including dorms and apartments, since these addresses are serviced by campus mail, and Wolfpack Outfitters is unable to ship packages via the inter-campus mailing system.

+International Shipping

We offer international shipping on a case-by-case basis. Before checkout, please contact our customer service team at ncstatestores@ncsu.edu with the details of the destination country. Shipping availability depends on customs regulations, and costs will vary based on the package's weight and location.

+Where do I track my order?

If you placed your order using an account, your tracking information will be available under the “Purchase History” tab on your profile. If you placed the order as a guest shopper, you will receive an email when your package has been shipped; however, you may need to reach out directly to our store email ncstatestores@ncsu.edu to access any specific tracking information.

Store Refund and Return Policies

+Course Material Refunds

You have until the Census Date to return books for a full refund on purchases made before the Census Date.

  • Books and digital materials purchased after the Census Date are non-refundable.
  • Course Ready Course Materials: Dropping a class may remove access to that course’s materials on Moodle. Refund requests must be submitted by the Census Date.

All refunds and exchanges require:

  • Student ID
  • Original receipt or order confirmation number (no copies accepted)
  • New textbooks must be in original condition (no marks, highlights, or damaged corners)
  • Access codes must be unopened and unregistered

+General Merchandise Refund

  • Returns accepted within 30 days of purchase (holiday purchases may vary).
  • Must be in new condition with tags attached.
  • Gift returns can be exchanged for merchandise of equal value.
  • Items marked FINAL SALE are not returnable.

+Graduation Regalia Refund

All graduation regalia is non-refundable. Regalia (unopened or opened) can be exchanged for the correct size or if defective before Graduation date.

+Computers and Peripheral Supplies Return Policy

All Technology Department returns must be processed at the Tech Den counter at the lower level of Wolfpack Outfitters.

Computers and tablets

Non-returnable unless defective. We only sell custom configured systems and cannot accept returns for any reason other than defective merchandise. Defective or DOA (dead on arrival) equipment can only be exchanged or refunded. Hardware issues warranting DOA status must be verifiable and replicable by our store support team. To qualify for DOA status the defective item must be confirmed:

  • within 15 days of the date of purchase and
  • returned in original, new condition with all original packaging and
  • with the original sales receipt.
  • All hardware warranties provided through equipment manufacturers.

All Other Computer Peripherals
    Please make sure that you are purchasing the correct item for you needs.
  • All sales are final unless unopened.
  • Defective earbuds, cables and other peripherals may be exchanged provided:
    • provide the defect can be replicated at the time of exchange
    • within 30 days from the date of purchase and
    • with the original sales receipt
    Calculators

  • All sales are final.
  • Defective calculators may be exchanged within 30 days from the date of purchase and with the original receipt.

+Web Store Order Refund

Website and online ordering

+How long will it take to process my order?

Please allow at least 24 hours before reaching out to us regarding the status of your order.

+Can I make an update or make a change to my order?

Yes, any changes you need to make to an online order can be communicated via email, either directly to our store email ncstatestores@ncsu.edu, or by responding to the confirmation email. If your order is still in our possession, we will do our best to accommodate your request.

+Can I pick up my order in-store?

Our in-store pickup option is available for all orders at no additional cost. These orders can be picked up at the online order service desk on the lower level of Wolfpack Outfitters. If you have any trouble finding us, feel free to ask an employee for directions. If you’re unsure whether your order is ready for pickup, please check your email - including your spam folder - for a message from ncstatestores@ncsu.edu. The email will include your order status as well as the order number needed for pickup. Please allow at least 24 hours before reaching out to us regarding the status of your order. We generally hold pickup orders for up to 1 month, though this time frame may vary depending on how busy the store is. You will receive three email reminders before your order is refunded and removed from the shelf.

+How do I pay for an order with my gift card?

Gift cards can be added as payment methods by clicking “Apply a Gift Certificate” and entering the 9-digit alpha-numeric code located on the back of the card. For “legacy” gift cards (cards issued before we changed systems), these have 16-digit codes along with a 4-digit PIN. These gift cards can be entered as follows: Last 5 digits of Gift Card Number (in our example, this is 54321) and the 4 digits of the PIN (you may need to scratch off the silver coating with a key or a coin to expose the pin). If the PIN on our example card is 9876, you would enter the following 9 digits in the Gift Card field: 543219876. Please contact us if you are having trouble with your Gift Card

+How do I order course materials?

To view your required course materials, log in to our website (shop.ncsu.edu) using your student UnityID credentials. After logging in, you should be immediately directed to search for your classes individually. If you want to view your customized booklist, you can do so through your MyPack portal, under the “Planning & Enrollment” tab by clicking the “View My Books” button in the top left corner. If you’re participating in Course Ready, there is no need to place any online order for textbooks. For any physical materials you need, simply come into the store and our employees will gather your textbooks for you. Digital materials will be accessed through the course’s Moodle page via a link set up by your instructor. For students not enrolled in the Course Ready program, textbook orders can be placed as with any other online order from our website. When purchasing e-books, there are two options for students not participating in Course Ready. The first option is the link on the professor’s Moodle page; however, this may not work for everyone. If that does not work, navigate our website to the “From the Web” section underneath your book and click the option from VitalSource. From there, you can search the ISBN of your book and purchase directly through their website. Either of these options will allow you to access your materials through your Moodle page.

+What payment methods are accepted online?

Our website accepts most common credit cards including Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express. We also accept payment from our store gift cards (instructions for using these can be found above). Unfortunately, we cannot accept international credit cards at this time. If you are able, we recommend coming in person to our store to make purchases with international cards. If this is not an option, please reach out to us via phone or email 919-515-2161 and ncstatestores@ncsu.eduto find an alternative solution. If you are having trouble placing your order and you are receiving an “Authorization Declined” message, there are two ways this may be remedied. This issue normally comes from a discrepancy in the billing address/shipping address. Please make sure that the address you are using is your permanent residence and not your local address (dorm, apartment, etc.) so that it matches the address on file with your credit card company. If you are still having issues, please reach out to us via phone or email 919-515-2161 and ncstatestores@ncsu.edu. Please note, NC State’s campus is completely cashless and therefore we do not accept cash as a payment method for in-store purchases.

Parking

+Visitor Parking

For customers who will only be on campus for a few minutes, there are a select few parking spots available on Cates Ave that are designated as “LZ - 30 minute maximum” – further information regarding these spots is available at: https://transportation.ncsu.edu/2024/01/convenient-short-term-parking-spaces-installed-on-cates-avenue/

Further information regarding visitor parking (available at the Coliseum Parking Deck, Dan Allen Drive Parking Deck, and Bragaw Hall) can be found on the Campus Enterprises Parking and Directions page. Visit us on campus at Talley Student Union. Parking on campus is free after 5 p.m. and on the weekends in "C" spots. At all other times, paid parking is available in the Reynolds Coliseum Parking Deck. To request a pass, scan the QR Code on the sign, enter the license plate number and the state, and then click Add. The clock starts as soon as the pass is requested.

Discounts and Promotions

+ What items are excluded from discounts?

There are no discounts available for the purchase of gift cards (physical or digital) or academic graduation regalia.

Faculty Course Material Information

+ What are the course material adoption deadlines?

The adoption deadlines for summer II and II is April 5 and fall is April 15.

+ How do I submit course material adoptions?

Professors will receive a customized link via email from Wolfpack Outfitters to submit textbook and course material orders (adoptions) online. Wolfpack Outfitters uses order collection software from Verba, which provides the most seamless and ease-of-use instructor experience. Please submit your textbook and course materials orders as soon as you receive your Verba email request. Doing so helps Wolfpack Outfitters have time to obtain more used books and offer lower prices, and digital options for our students. + How do I organize custom course packs for my students?

Please submit your custom course packet orders at least 2 months before the upcoming term to ensure that they will be available in the store by the first day of classes. We will accept custom course pack orders outside this production timeline (e.g. up until the course start date), but cannot guarantee availability by the first day of classes due to necessary processing and printing time.
