Using Financial Aid to Purchase a Computer

Wolfpack Outfitters provides several options for customers that are awarded Financial Aid to get the computer they need.

Students with aid allocated to purchase a computer:

If you have verified with the Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA) that you will be receiving additional aid to cover the cost of a computer purchase, you have two options:

1) Pay for the computer using another method of payment and take delivery immediately.

2) Reserve your computer and pick it up once your financial aid is disbursed.

OSFA disburses funds after deducting tuition and room and board charges owed to the university. The funds typically release to the student or parent soon after Move-in weekend. To ensure you receive needed funds as quickly as possible, specify direct deposit to have the funds sent to your bank account electronically.

Students needing additional aid to purchase a computer:

NC State allows financial aid recipients to apply for a one time increase in their total Cost Of Attendance(COA) to cover the cost of a computer. Wolfpack Outfitters is happy to reserve computers for Financial Aid recipients until they receive the additional aid they may qualify for (usually immediately after award if direct deposit is the selected method of aid disbursement). To request an increase in total COA students must have completed the FAFSA and meet the income levels necessary to qualify for additional aid. An increase in aid is not guaranteed and is dependent upon many factors.

*Financial Aid is allocated based on student FAFSA applications most of the time. It is extremely important to submit your FAFSA as early as possible once the submission window opens. Your likelihood of receiving additional funds to purchase a computer can be enhanced by your timely and complete submission.
