The bachelor's gown is produced from a high quality material that resists fading and wrinkling. It is all black with bell sleeves and a front zipper. The cap is all black as well, with a sturdy mortarboard construction and a snug fit. The color of the tassel is indicative of the department from which your degree has been conferred. In addition, the colors of the hood are contingent on the department AND university from which your degree has been conferred. For example: The red and white inside of the hoods pictured are for NC State University. The actual inside colors of the hood you receive will be representative of the university that awarded your degree.
