Yubico Fido U2F Security Key
Details
If you don’t have a smartphone or you’re unable to use the Duo Mobile app as your Duo multifactor authentication method, you will need a security key.
A security key is a physical device that looks like a flash drive and plugs into your phone, computer, or tablet. You can use a security key to verify your identity when logging in to NC State services like Google Workspace, MyPack Portal, and WolfWare.
A single security key can be used for multiple accounts, including both Duo and Google 2-Step Verification for generic accounts. You can also add multiple security keys to the same account.
For more information about how to set up and use a security key with Duo, see:
- How to enroll a security key with Duo

- How to select a different authentication device or method when logging in with Duo
For general questions related to security keys, contact the NC State Help Desk via the NC State IT Service Portal or call 919.515.HELP (4357).
