The master's gown is produced from a high quality material which resists fading and wrinkling. It is all black, with low hanging, oblong sleeves and a front zipper. The cap is all black as well, with a sturdy mortarboard construction and a snug fit. The color of the tassel is indicative of the department from which your degree is conferred. In addition, the color scheme of the hood is contingent on the university and department from which your degree was conferred. For example, the red and white inside on the inside of the hoods here are for NC State University. Likewise, the actual inside colors of the hood you receive will be representative of the University that awarded your degree.
